Ajman University is the first private university in the region. The QS Rankings lists AU among the top 751 – 800 universities globally for 2019. Such ranking puts AU in the top 2.8% worldwide and 1.7% in the top Arab region.

QS Rankings also lists AU among the “Top 150 universities Under 50 Years Old” for 2019. Only 8 UAE institutions and 16 Arab universities made this list.

QS Rankings has also listed Ajman Emirate as the 61st Best City for Students in the world which is ahead of cities like Atlanta in the U.S.
